Broward County Audubon Society (BCAS) is a chapter of the National Audubon Society and Audubon of Florida.

BCAS provides a wide range of services to members and the general public, including:
  • Birdwatching and nature trips
  • Special events such as Water Matters Day, Give Thanks for the Environment Day, Christmas Bird Count, and Great Backyard Bird Count  
  • Environmental education programs
  • Local and regional advocacy on environmental and conservation issues important to Broward County residents.


Several BCAS Board members sit on environmental committees and boards such as the Everglades Coalition; the VisionBroward task force on redevelopment and quality of life; and Broward County's water advisory board, land preservation board, and airport task force.

President of Broward County Audubon Society is Doug Young.  Vice President is Devin Avery and Secretary is Dr. Hedvah Shuchman.  Other continuing members of the Board of Directors include Dr. Lisa Baumbach-Reardon, Grant Campbell, Jonathan Estrin, Justin Freedman, Peg McPherson,  and Marti Reynolds. New members to the board are Barbara Walker and Constance Ruppender.
