About Us

SOUTH FLORIDA AUDUBON SOCIETY

South Florida Audubon Society (SFAS) is a chapter of Audubon of Florida and National Audubon Society, Inc.  We provide a wide range of services to members and the general public including:

  • Field trips for watching birds and enjoying nature
  • Participation in local, regional, and national events such as Water Matters Day, Give Thanks for the Environment Day, Earth Day, Christmas Bird Count, and the Great Backyard Bird Count
  • Environmental education program
  • Local and regional advocacy on environmental and conservation issues
  • TogetherGreen Projects
South Florida Audubon Society (SFAS) formerly was known as the Broward County Audubon Society.  Because of its growth and regional outreach, a change of name and logo was needed.

Officers and Board of Director members serve one year terms from October 1 to September 30 of the following year. Click here to see a profile of the President of South Florida Audubon Society.  Visit the archives to see achievements and history of this 5(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
