Shazad Baig is an environmentalist with a strong interest in conservation, environmental education, and public health. Born and raised in South Florida, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science.
Shazad has been actively involved with the South Florida Audubon Society through his internship and volunteer work, contributing to sea turtle hatchling rescue efforts and community-based conservation initiatives. His work reflects a commitment to protecting South Florida’s unique ecosystems while helping educate the public about environmental stewardship.
Shazad is a 2024–2025 graduate of Audubon Florida’s Conservation Leadership Initiative (CLI), a program focused on developing the next generation of conservation leaders and strengthening their involvement in Audubon’s conservation work.
Through his service with the AmeriCorps Florida Conservation Corps, Shazad has gained hands-on field experience in habitat restoration and invasive species management. He has participated in Burmese python removal efforts in collaboration with the Miccosukee Tribe and supported strike team projects throughout Florida, working across diverse and challenging environments.
Shazad is particularly interested in the connection between environmental science and public health and hopes to contribute to both ecosystem protection and community resilience.
